Cheap vs. Branded Sunglasses

I think we have all stepped inside an expensive, high end brand store and scratched our heads, because we can’t really understand why their price point is so outrageous, especially for products that seem to resemble off-brand items. Well, this is a no-brainer, but first and foremost, when you are buying these products, you’re not just buying the product itself, but also the brand name as well, and these names do carry a lot of weight, since these brands are not only well-established, but also respected globally.

If you’re still trying to figure out why branded sunglasses are more expensive even though they are also made off the same plastic and lens like their cheaper counterparts, we’re going to help differentiate between the two below.

  • First of all, sun glasses are supposed to help filter out harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays, so they basically help to protect your eyes. Most knock of sunglasses do not provide UV protection, so they aren’t serving their purpose.
  • Sunglasses are also supposed to reduce the effects of intense lighting, in fact, good, branded sunglasses can reduce that exposure upto 95%, so you don’t have to squint or risk damaging your retinas either.
  • When we are naturally exposed to really bright light, we tend to squint, squinting overtime ends up accelerating the aging process and you develop crowfeet, however, wearing good sunglasses can prevent that from happening.
  • When we look at white, transparent or reflective surfaces, we have to deal with glare, which creates problems in our vision temporarily. Good, expensive sunglasses prevent that from happening, so your vision isn’t compromised if you’re driving, out on the beach etc.

So, once you realize that branded sunglasses actually do offer something better, it is better to buy them since it’ll be a good investment, rather than buying multiple cheap sunglasses that serve no purpose.  You can check out Luxottica Group eyewear for their variety.
